This case study shows the design and renovation of a 700 SQ.FT unit.

Through comparison of the plans and on-site inspection, we discovered numerous exposed beams within the unit, leading to the creation of extensive false ceilings in the original renovation.
However, this made the original ceiling appear even lower, creating a sense of oppression.

To meet the homeowner's desire for a "Simple European Style," the design team decided to remove the existing false ceilings. Through careful material selection, color coordination, and lighting design, the ceiling height was visually significantly increased; and the use of curved ceiling design concealed several exposed beams. The rounded curves not only alleviated the structural heaviness but also added an elegant touch to the European design.

European design, through the use of varied lines, effectively enhances the aesthetics and softness of a space. Even in a minimalist space, exquisite quality can be showcased through subtle details.

Humanized Entrance Hall Planning: A Balance Between Aesthetics and Spaciousness

Addressing the relatively long and narrow entrance hallway, the design team first corrected the spatial proportions using curved ceilings, alleviating the feeling of oppression. To make the homeowner's daily flow of movement more interesting and detailed, careful attention was paid to the wall design: one side features a full-height veneer finish, while the other side uses a half-height veneer finish, leaving some paint blank to maintain simplicity.

Besides the wall design, the flooring and finishing also complement each other. We chose lighting fixtures with rich color layers, combining wall lamps with European-style decorative moldings, creating a contrast between the half-height moldings and the simple walls. The floor color and geometric patterns further enhance the otherwise monotonous and narrow hallway space, transforming it into an interesting highlight.

Integrated Living and Dining Area: Hidden Storage and Open Flow Design

The half-height veneer finish wall, extending from the entryway, smoothly guides the sight into the living and dining area, integrating the open kitchen into the unified design.

For storage needs, we designed hidden storage cabinets behind the sofa, with three interconnected pull-out storage carts. Users can easily move and retrieve items by simply opening the lower cabinet doors in the entryway. This design is particularly suitable for storing large collectibles that are used very infrequently (need only once or twice a year), and is a precise storage proposal tailored to the homeowner's lifestyle after close communication between the design team and the homeowner.

The open-plan kitchen effectively alleviates the oppressive feeling of the narrow hallway, making the flow of movement between the kitchen and dining room smooth and natural. The design team specially created a raised bar counter, paired with appropriately sized bar stools, to create a relaxing corner for the homeowner to enjoy coffee and take a break.

The combined kitchen and dining room layout perfectly overlaps the two functional spaces, freeing up more living space.

Precise Space Remodeling: Multifunctional Bathroom and Flexible Double Sliding Door Bedroom

The bathroom was redesigned to combine the functions of a toilet and laundry room. While accommodating the washing machine, it also expands the sense of space in the bathroom both functionally and visually, improving user comfort.

The bedroom area features subtle layout adjustments that maximize space utilization while creating a perfectly sized walk-in closet, providing adequate wardrobe storage and display space.

The smaller room is defined as a multi-functional space combining work, reading, and relaxation. To strike a balance between maintaining focus (privacy) and creating a sense of spaciousness, a double sliding door design is used.

When focused on work, closing the sliding doors creates a private retreat; opening them during the day integrates the room with the master bedroom, visually extending the spatial axis and significantly enhancing the overall brightness and sense of openness.

本案為一個700呎單位的設計裝修工程。

經圖則比對與現場檢視，我們發現單位內橫樑較多，導致原先裝修做了大量假天花。然而，這卻令原本不高的樓底顯得更低，產生壓迫感。

配合屋主對「簡潔歐式風格」的期望，設計團隊決定拆除舊有假天花。透過材料挑選、色彩搭配及燈光設計，從視覺上大幅拉高樓底；並利用弧形天花設計，修飾了多條橫樑。圓潤的弧形線條不僅化解了結構的沉重感，更為歐式設計增添了一份優雅。

歐式設計透過多變的線條運用，能有效提升空間的美感與柔和度。即使是簡潔路線的空間，亦能透過微小細節展現極致的質感。

人性化玄關規劃：美觀與空間感的平衡

面對玄關通道較為狹長的缺點，設計團隊首先透過弧形天花修正空間比例，解除壓迫感。為了讓屋主每日出入的動線更具趣味與細節，在牆身設計上花了心思：一側採用全高木飾面焗油，另一側則作半腰木飾面焗油處理，並保留部分牆身油漆作「留白」，維持簡潔度。

除了牆面花思，地面的鋪貼與修飾亦互相配合。我們選用色彩層次豐富的燈飾，透過壁燈與歐式花線的結合，搭配半腰花線設計與簡潔牆面的對比。再加上地板的色彩與幾何圖案配搭，將原本單調狹長的走廊空間，升格為富有趣味的亮點。

一體化客飯廳：隱形收納與開放式動線設計

延伸自玄關的半腰木飾面焗油牆身，順暢地導引視覺進入客飯廳，並將開放式廚房納入統一的設計內。
針對收納需求，我們在梳化後方設計了隱藏式儲物櫃，內置三組聯動式的抽拉儲物車。用家只需開啟玄關位置的下身櫃門，即可輕易移動並調取物品。此設計特別適合存放使用頻率極低（一年僅挪動一至兩次）的大型收藏品，是設計團隊與屋主緊密溝通後，針對生活習慣給予的精準收納提案。

開放式廚房的配置，有效緩和了窄長走廊的壓迫感，令進入廚房及飯廳的動線變得流暢自然。設計團隊特別打造了升高吧枱，搭配適當的吧椅高度，為屋主營造出一個喝咖啡、小憩的休閒角落。

廚房與飯廳的二合一規劃，將兩大機能空間完美重疊，釋放更多活動空間。

空間精準改造：多功能洗手間與彈性雙趟門睡房

浴室經重新規劃後，將洗手間與洗衣房功能合二為一。在容納洗衣機的同時，從功能到視覺層面也擴大洗手間的空間感，提升使用舒適度。

睡房區域則透過局部格局微調，在空間利用最大化的前提下，辟出一個恰到好處的小型衣帽間，提供海量衣櫃收納與物件陳列空間。

細房則定義為集合工作、閱讀與悠閒的多功能空間。為了在保持工作專注力（隱私度）與追求空間感之間取得平衡，採用了雙趟門設計。
專注工作時關上趟門可自成一國；平日打開則可與主人房融為一體，視覺上延伸空間軸線，同時顯著提升全屋的採光度與開闊感。
